Mantautas Krukauskas is a composer and sound artist, an Associate Professor at the Department of Composition of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LMTA) in Vilnius. He is the co-founder and Head (since 2016) of the Music Innovation Studies Centre, an academic lab dedicated to music technology, innovation in music and education, interactive arts, immersive media, and interdisciplinary practices. Since 2025, he has also been serving as the Head of the Lithuanian Composers’ Union.
His compositions, including chamber music, electroacoustic pieces, sound art, and music for theatre and dance productions, have been performed in Lithuania, Austria, Germany, France, Canada, the USA, and other countries. His professional activities also include electronic music performance and work within the creative industries on music production and arrangement. In 2024, he became the co-author of the first staged early Baroque-style opera composed with the assistance of AI.
Mantautas Krukauskas has been actively engaged in coordinating and managing international artistic, research, and educational programs. His interests include interdisciplinarity, creativity, music and media technologies, and the synergy of diverse aesthetic and cultural approaches.
